Adventurous Glacier Point Wedding in Yosemite National Park
Priscilla and Seth’s Glacier Point wedding was the perfect example of how you truly do not have to choose between an intimate Yosemite wedding experience and celebrating with all of your favorite people afterward. As a Yosemite wedding photographer, one of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that couples have to either elope privately in Yosemite or skip the dream location entirely so they can have a larger wedding celebration. The truth is, you can absolutely have both!
Their day blended an intimate sunrise ceremony in Yosemite National Park with a larger reception celebration later that evening. It felt emotional, adventurous, relaxed, and super personal from start to finish.
A Sunrise First Look at Wawona Meadow
The day started before sunrise at Wawona Meadow for their first look and private vows. Early mornings in Yosemite always feel peaceful, but this one felt especially quiet and calm. The meadow was bright green, the air was nice and cool, and the morning light filtered through the trees beautifully.
It was just Priscilla, Seth, and their local vendor team there that morning. Everything felt calm before the excitement of the day fully began. Their private vows were incredibly emotional, and you could tell they felt completely grounded with each other. I loved Priscilla’s earthy and whimsical bridal style, which fit Yosemite perfectly. Everything about the morning felt effortless!
Glacier Point Wedding Ceremony at Sunrise
After their first look, we drove up to Glacier Point for the ceremony. If you have never been to Glacier Point at sunrise, it is honestly one of the most beautiful experiences in Yosemite National Park! The light slowly moves across the granite cliffs while the valley below starts waking up.
Their ceremony took place at the Glacier Point Amphitheater with around 50 guests in attendance. This is one of the best ceremony locations in Yosemite for couples wanting iconic views while still having space for family and friends to comfortably attend. One of the biggest perks of the amphitheater is the built-in seating. You don’t have to rent or set up ceremony chairs, which makes logistics so much.
I think a lot of couples planning a Yosemite wedding worry that an intimate national park ceremony means sacrificing time with family or making things feel too small. Priscilla and Seth’s wedding was such a perfect reminder that you really can create both experiences together. I love how they were able to have a meaningful ceremony surrounded by Yosemite’s scenery while still celebrating later with a much larger group of loved ones!
Couples Portraits Around Glacier Point
After the ceremony, we explored some of my favorite hidden spots around Glacier Point for portraits. Summer in Yosemite can definitely get crowded, especially around the main viewpoints, so this is where my local knowledge as a Yosemite wedding and elopement photographer becomes really valuable.
Instead of staying in the busiest areas, we walked to quieter spots nearby where they could actually relax and enjoy time together without huge crowds around them. Some of these portrait locations had incredible views while still feeling tucked away from the main traffic areas.
After portraits, they celebrated with a picnic at a nearby meadow before taking a short break ahead of the reception later that evening.
A National Park Inspired Reception at Their Private Airbnb
Their reception took place at their very own Yosemite Cabin surrounded by friends and family. This part of the day felt completely different from the quiet sunrise ceremony in Yosemite, but it blended together so naturally.
The reception design fit them perfectly. The florals were whimsical, earthy, and inspired by the surrounding forest with lots of greenery and wildflower textures mixed throughout the space. It was all thoughtful without feeling overly formal.
Since Priscilla and Seth are both outdoorsy and love hiking together, the national park inspired details throughout the reception made so much sense for them. Their whole wedding day reflected who they are as a couple.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching both families come together throughout the celebration. There were emotional speeches, a sweet first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, and nonstop dancing once the music started.
The most iconic moment of the entire reception was easily when one of their cousins came out dressed as Bigfoot carrying around shots for everyone to kick off the dance floor. It completely changed the energy of the night in a good way and honestly felt very fitting for a Yosemite wedding celebration!

This wedding came together so seamlessly because every vendor involved knew Yosemite well and worked together throughout the day. That local experience matters so much when planning a national park wedding!
