Kings Canyon | The most underrated spot

Most people think of Sequoia when they imagine dreamy photos in the forest… but Kings Canyon National Park? That’s where the real hidden gems live. It’s quiet. It’s wild. And if you know where to look, it’s got everything you could ever want for an engagement session-meadows, waterfalls, mountain views, and plenty of space to just be present with your person.

That’s exactly what Ben and Pearl wanted when they reached out to me.

A hidden meadow

Ben told me he really wanted a wide open meadow with lots of greenery, something that felt untouched and calm. So naturally, I took them to one of my favorite secluded locations, Roads End in Kings Canyon.

You wouldn’t know it was there if you weren’t looking for it. But that’s what makes it so special. We wandered into a soft, grassy meadow, surrounded by tall pines and mountain peaks. It felt like something out of a movie!!

Ben and Pearl were such a joy to photograph. So easygoing and full of those quiet, real moments that make sessions like this unforgettable.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that Kings Canyon is packed with beauty beyond the meadows. Just a short drive from Roads End, you can find some of the best waterfalls in Central California, like Roaring River Falls and Mist Falls!!

Roaring River is super accessible and gives you those powerful, misty photo vibes.
Mist Falls is a longer hike but so worth it if you're down for an adventure session with a waterfall finale.

You could literally start your session in a peaceful meadow and end it by a waterfall. How sweet is that?
