There’s just something about Sequoia in the fall. The air feels fresh, the crowds thin out, and that warm golden light hits the trees in a way that stops you in your tracks. It’s easily one of my favorite times of year to photograph couples here!

As a local Sequoia photographer who’s explored this park for years, I can tell you fall sessions have a kind of magic that’s hard to put into words, but easy to capture on camera.

Why Fall Is the Best Season

After summer fades, Sequoia turns into a fall wonderland. Mornings are cool and foggy, the sun filters through the giant trees, and most of the crowds have gone home.

And the best part? You can cozy up in layers that look amazing in photos. Think flannels, denim, neutral sweaters, and earthy tones that blend perfectly with the forest.

Even though Sequoia isn’t known for huge leaf changes like the East Coast, there’s still this warm shift in color everywhere you look. The meadows fade to gold, ferns turn copper, and the sequoia bark glows red in the low light which creates the most beautiful and colorful fall photos.
