Magical Fall Sequoia Elopement | National Park WEdding
Fall Sequoia National Park Elopement
Some couples just know the traditional wedding route is not for them. H + E…these two are the perfect example of that. They wanted a day that felt true to who they are stress-free, meaningful, and centered on adventure. Sequoia National Park already held a special spot in their story because one of their best adventures happened here. They explored the park with family when they first started dating, so bringing their brother and sister in law back for their elopement made the whole day feel like it came full circle. Their day was slow, intimate, and exactly the kind of Sequoia elopement experience my couples get to experience.
Planning a True to You Sequoia Elopement Day
My role as their Sequoia elopement photographer went far beyond taking photos. I created their full day timeline, helped them choose locations that matched their vibe, and built their elopement experience around the things they already love to do together. They are huge fans of picnic dates, so they planned a little charcuterie picnic for after their ceremony. They also wanted a chance to explore Sequoia the way they did on their first adventure, so we visited a few of my favorite spots in the park including Crescent Meadow, Parker Group, and Tunnel Log. Every location we visited gave them room to be themselves.
Sequoia Elopement Locations and Their Ceremony at Beetle Rock
After exploring, we headed to Beetle Rock for their ceremony. This place is one of the most peaceful spots in Sequoia for a wedding or elopement. The overlook gives you those wide open views and the light in late October is incredibly soft. Their ceremony was emotional and sweet, surrounded by the quiet of the forest. Once they exchanged vows, we set up their picnic and celebrated with food, laughter, and a little exploring. When the sun went down, we finished the night with lantern photos so they could have photos that felt fun and unique to them. No stiff poses. No boring photos. Just natural moments that look like real life.
Tips for Planning Your Own Sequoia Elopement
Stress-Free Experience
If you want a Sequoia elopement that is truly stress free allowing you to be fully present, hire a local photographer who knows the trails, lighting, parking, and permit process. I planned everything for them so all they had to do was book their Airbnb and show up ready to enjoy their day.
Best Time for a Sequoia Elopement
October is one of the best months for these locations because the weather is cool and the crowds have died down. Evenings get cold so bring layers. You do need a Sequoia National Park wedding permit and I will link the guide in your confirmation email when you book. I handle all the planning logistics so you can focus on each other and enjoy the experience.
