There’s something really sweet about helping plan a proposal for someone visiting Yosemite for the very first time! One of my favorite things about being a Yosemite proposal photographer is how every story feels different and gosh did Luis and Sarah give all the feels!
Planning a Yosemite SURPRISE Proposal
Luis reached out wanting to plan a surprise proposal in Yosemite, and right away he made it clear that it had to be perfect for Sarah! We hopped on a Zoom call and planned everything out together, from the exact location to timing it just right with the light. Sarah had never been to Yosemite National Park before, so he really wanted her first time here to be unforgettable. Sarah came into the park as a girlfriend and left as a fiancé, so I’d say it was pretty unforgettable!!
A Picture-Perfect Proposal Spot in Yosemite Valley
Luis chose a meadow in Yosemite Valley with the double waterfalls in the background, an iconic view where they could share the moment just between them. Luis nailed the surprise, and after the happy tears, Sarah turned to him and said, “Great job on the location!” It was truly the perfect spot!
Capturing those newly engaged moments
After the proposal, we spent some time exploring the area. These two were a the cutest! Laid-back, full of love, and totally down for a little adventure. We even got to sneak in a few Twilight jokes because the moody forest vibes were too good not to and they loved twilight too!! (If we can bond over twilight, we are already friends!!)

This day was such a good reminder that the best photos come from letting things unfold naturally. No pressure, no posing every second, just being present.
