There’s something special about sunrise at Glacier Point, the quiet, the color of the light, and the feeling that you’re standing on top of the world. For L + T’s Yosemite proposal, we met before dawn, hiking up in the chilly morning. The moment the first rays of light hit Half Dome, he dropped to one knee, and everything went still. It was emotional, beautiful, and absolutely perfect, the kind of moment that makes me fall in love with being a Yosemite engagement photographer all over again.
After the big “yes,” we stayed to take in the view together. The soft golden glow wrapped around them, creating the dreamiest lighting for photos. Glacier Point is easily one of my favorite Yosemite proposal locations because it combines jaw-dropping views with a peaceful, intimate atmosphere, perfect for couples who want to start their forever surrounded by nature.

Once the sun was fully up, we drove down into Yosemite Valley for more engagement photos. The morning light followed us through the trees and meadows, giving that soft, warm tone that makes Yosemite photos so timeless. We stopped at some of the park’s most iconic spots, the Yosemite Chapel, El Capitan Meadow, and a few quiet corners where you can see Half Dome’s reflection in the Merced River.
In the valley, the mood shifted from emotional to fun. They ran through the grass, laughed together, and soaked in every minute of their engagement morning. That’s what I love most about doing Yosemite engagement sessions, slowing down, exploring, and creating memories that feel true to who you are as a couple.
